2nd Infectious Diseases Conference

In the last decade, a lot of progress has been made in the field of infectious diseases in South Africa, and the surrounding region. Despite this progress, there are still concerns over infectious diseases, both in the region and worldwide. Facing many major health concerns, such as TB and HIV, there are several issues which are widespread in the African context.

The one-day Infectious Diseases Conference will focus on the management of infectious diseases with the challenges faced by those in the field due to a lack of training, scarce resources and equipment and a lack of antimicrobial stewardship in hospitals. Following from the topics this year, we will look at how to overcome the challenges and limitations to have stronger and more effective care in the healthcare setting.
